Are we still worried about goaltending?

Statistically speaking, we have two top 10 goalies going into the playoffs.

If Rittich had two more games under his belt and his same stats, he would be listed as the 2nd best goalie in the NHL for GAA and 3rd for SV%. Talbot is 6th in the NHL for both respectively.

Kings have the #2 PK in the league and as the saying goes, your goalies have to be your best penalty killers... I think that box it checked whether they get the credit for it or not.

If the skaters can bring back the scoring touch they had toward the beginning of the season, the Kings could dominate these playoffs.

Regular season is regular season and the playoffs are the playoffs. Yes, I'm worried. But keeping my fingers crossed.

Quick had a .946 and a .911 campaign for Cup wins. So...I don't know...I feel we lack a Justin Williams type of player to really stand a chance to have a deep run with only good and not great goaltending.

Next year maybe - I don't think goalies necessary steal games like they did in the Quick peak years and before.

Obviously it's a select few that can match Williams game 7 efforts over the years, but overall I think Kempe has become our new Justin Williams.

I was thinking this exactly while watching the last game and contemplating the Kings chances and who our playoff ‘impact’guys are on this roster. While there is no replacing a Justin Williams…what I’ve seen from Kempe…especially this season and lately…makes him the closest we got. Now all we need is a Dustin Brown. That’s the type of guy I’m not seeing on this team. That said I’m very comfortable with the goaltending as long as all the core D men stay healthy.

Well...one can certainly hope. But so far his track record is zero game 7 wins. 🤷‍♂️ He still has time to prove himself though, that's true...

Justin Williams is one of a kind but I’d say Viktor Arvidsson is about as close a style match as I’ve seen in the NHL since Stick retired. Not a perfect 1 for 1 but if Vik were a few inches taller it’d be hard to tell them apart.

Talbot and Rittich are system goalies. If the Kings system holds strong in the playoffs I trust either of them to make the saves they’re supposed to. Can’t really ask for more than that.
this is how i feel as well. If the Kings play their structure well, they win. If they start slipping, it's unlikely our goalie is going to win us a game with a crazy individual effort.

This ^^^^^^^ By far, Arvy is the one Kings player that plays a similar game to Williams. I have brought this up a number of times on this forum. Kempe is a great player in his own right, but he does not play the game the way Williams did.

Agreed. When he's pissing the other team off we win games.

Both Cam and Big Dave save get hot streaks where they're unbeatable both also look softer than baby poop at times so it depends on who shows up. I'm way happier than having to rely on Korpisalo. I'm still angry Phoenix Copley didn't get to play in the playoffs he deserved it

They should go after Matthew David from Denver HARD. Send him to Ontario for a year, and let Ranford develop him.

Reminds me of a future HOFer we used to have.

Very true, I really hope we can find a player in the mold of Dustin Brown to add to the roster in order to help take the team to the next level. I think we still need a Brown and a Mitchell.

High hope for Cohen Ziemmer. I’m aware it’s silly to get too attached to a prospect that young, but he has all the makings of an impact player.

On the topic of goaltending, Slukynsky is putting up the best numbers in the USHL in years. Watch him during college. He might be something special.
