A glance at the standings confirms the Kings remain the worst team in the NHL. But anyone watching them play the past few weeks might be tempted to double-check.
Nothing the Kings are doing on the ice lately makes them look like a last-place team.
Alexander Frolov had three assists Friday to help the Kings to a 6-3 victory over Calgary in front of 18,118 at Staples Center.
Though they are 25-32-3 on the season, the Kings have 10wins and an overtime loss for 21 points in their past 16games.
"Obviously we're disappointed about where we are in the standings, but we can't look at it like that," said Derek Armstrong, who had a goal and two assists. "We're a young team and the most important thing is to continue to grow. We've been taking steps forward, and I think that's what is most important."
