In his most challenging effort to date, Don Fulton finally tracked down Kings prospect Wayne Simmonds, and got a great interview for his effort. As I just finished telling Don, Simmonds is one of the players I'm most looking forward to seeing again, just to see how he has developed since last fall. Here's the interview...
I can't wait to see this guy in a Kings uniform soon, It'll be great to see a kid like him make a difference on the ice if things go somewhat good in the next few years to come...plus it's also cool to know that he's a black hockey player which is something rare (I happen to be black, and obviously hockey isn't really a popular sport in my race), so seeing him play someday is something I'm TRULY looking forward to. No matter what, he's already one my idols when it comes to black players in hockey history.
Of all the prospects projected to play for the kings in the next couple of years I think Simmonds is my favorite. Not just because he is black, but because I really think his toughness and is something this team could really use.

Thank's RR. Wayne Simmonds is going to be a stud...
I'd love to see him get to at least 195 lbs so that he can throw some more weight around....Then he will have to tell me his whole mass gaining secrets because I too am 19 and looking to be about 205 by October...(I'm 6'4" 190 and it's proven pretty damn tough to put on weight with my type of frame)...
