[Marty] Jones, who was recently invited to the Los Angeles Kings' training camp, doesn't even try to hide the fact he wants an increased workload.

"I want to play more," said Jones, who was 18-8-1 with a 2.12 GAA last season.

"I want to be the No. 1 guy. But there's lots of new guys here and everyone's battling for spots. It should be a good fight."

Jones also spent the summer working out hard.

"I wanted to get a little bit stronger, mostly in my legs, and put on a bit of weight.

"I trained a lot and did a bunch of one-on-one stuff on the ice."

i'm curious to know how much Edmonton draftee Alexandre Plante and the Capitals' one-two punch of Alzner and (Keith) Seabrook took care of both goaltenders last year... they both had pretty good numbers and Calgary had the second best record in the WHL last season.
