Los Angeles Kings
Contrary to reports suggesting Kings defenseman Rob Blake has said he won't waive his no-trade clause, he has not been asked by GM Dean Lombardi to do so. Lombardi said Tuesday he's spoken to Blake in general about the defenseman's feelings regarding a possible move and has an idea of what teams might be attractive to him.
"I think I have a pretty good idea of where he'd like to be," Lombardi said.
The belief is Blake, 38, who returned to Los Angeles at the start of last season, would like to stay on the West Coast, which means Anaheim and San Jose would be logical landing points. Still, the Ducks are more interested in help up front than adding to an already talented blue line.
It's believed Lombardi would entertain offers for most of his older players. One player that would garner some attention is Ladislav Nagy, but he's been out of the lineup with a neck injury. The talented Slovak was starting to play well when he was injured and it's unknown when he might return to action, which might restrict teams' interest in acquiring him. Regardless, Nagy, an unrestricted free agent, isn't likely to be re-signed by the Kings in the offseason.
