If DL makes this trade then this season and the next five seasons are over. Kopitar will have a great career with the Hawks and LA will be the bottom feeder for at least five more years. What is so scary, DL maybe stupid enough to pull the trigger. DL has promised Kings fans that he is commited to rebuild this franchise, please do not panic and make a move that will set the Kings back another five years. The Kings fans have already been waiting for five years to smell the playoffs, please do not make it another five!
The Kings have a minimum of at least three years until they can do any real damage in the playoffs. If DL brings in a goalie now, the move will not make any sense.
Even with a decent goalie, the Kings are nowhere near the playoffs. Let the kids play, and learn and then if needed in three years when they are ready to make a run, bring in a goalie if he feels that the current crop of goalies will not step up. Doing it now will only help the Kings win a few more games, however, it will not help them to the playoffs. Stick with your plan DL and do not panic!
I do not speak for everyone, however, in three to four years I am hoping the Kings and their fans are not just looking to make the playoffs, however, I hope they are looking for Lord Stanley!
Man I hope this is one of those ridiculous trade rumors. I think since Kevin Lowe is making such a splash on SoCal hockey that other Canadians are jumping on the band wagon. Hopefully we will all wake up and realize that the back bacon and pineapple pizza we had the night before caused some intense not to be beliieved bad dream.
This is just a stupid rumor. It would make no sense for the Kings.
If Deano did pull such a stunt, I wonder how many people would cancel their season tickets. I know I would--that would finally be the last straw. They'd probably have to set up a hotline or somethng to handle all the calls.
i'd say that goes waaayyyyyy beyond a wtf?! Trade. That would be the mother of all wtf?! Trades that all other wtf?! Trades would aspire to one day become.
The only way a deal like this happens is if Lumbago thinks he won't be able to sign Kopitar to a new contract.
Maybe that's why he looked so glum and distracted at the Terry Murray press conference...
