Ruslan Salei posted a goal and an assist, as the Colorado Avalanche defeated the Los Angeles Kings, 5-2, at the Pepsi Center.
Joe Sakic also scored and Jordan Leopold collected three assists for the Avalanche, who won three straight for the first time since January 12-15. Jose Theodore made 23 saves to pick up the win.
Ryan Smyth scored two goals before was taken off the ice on the stretcher with 28.5 seconds remaining in the second period.
"We've had some pretty good comebacks and today we didn't need that, which is good," said Sakic. "We don't want too many of those. We have to keep winning. It's great to get the win but we have some teams to catch and we have to keep winning like this."
