It's finally time for the Kings to take a look at their future.
Prospects Teddy Purcell, 22, and Peter Harrold, 24, were brought up from the Kings' American Hockey League affiliate Manchester (N.H.) on Monday to join the team on a three-game road trip to western Canada.
The moves mark a departure from the season-long philosophy of general manager Dean Lombardi, who had resisted calling up the team's youth since an early experiment with 19-year-old goaltender Jonathan Bernier.
When the Kings previously brought up a player from their minor-league affiliate, the move often made the team older. The regular call-up had been 38-year-old defenseman Jon Klemm.
