THE MONARCHS SPENT Monday night dancing, signing autographs, delivering and tipping down a cocktail or two with season ticket holders, sponsors and fans at CR Sparks in Bedford.
It was the annual "At Your Service" $100-a-plate dinner with players serving as waiters and it raised $33,000 for the Monarchs Care Foundation and other local charities.
The fun-filled night away from the playoff pressures of the ice also raised the spirits of the Monarchs. They were on a two-game losing skid on the brink of playing their way out of the playoffs for the first time in their history. This could have been their going away party.
