A big effort against the Worcester Sharks combined for a 5-3 victory for the Manchester Monarchs for their first win of the new year in front of 4,471 fans at DCU Center last night.
Manchester (15-15-4-1) is tied for fifth place in the Atlantic Division with Worcester (15-13-3-2). Both teams have 35 points.
Manchester jumped out to a 3-1 lead after one period on goals by Trevor Lewis, Lauri Tukonen and Matt Moulson.
Brian Boyle scored the winning goal on a power play early in the third period for Manchester. Brady Murray finished off the scoring for the Monarchs.
