LAST WEEK’S HIGHLIGHTS

At Rockford (1/16): The Manchester Monarchs’ three game winning streak and six game road winning streak came to an
end at the hands of the Rockford IceHogs in a 4-1 loss at the Rockford MetroCentre on Wednesday night. Center Trevor
Lewis scored the lone Monarchs goal. Center Petri Kontiola, left wing Bryan Bickell, left wing Troy Brouwer and center Evan
Brophey tallied for the IceHogs. Monarchs goaltender Erik Ersberg took the loss stopping 10-of-13 shots before being
replaced by netminder Daniel Taylor in the second period who stopped 20 shots. IceHogs goaltender Corey Crawford
earned the victory with 34 saves. Manchester went 0-for-7 on the power play. Rockford was 1-for-6 with the man advantage.
At Milwaukee (1/18): Goaltender Daniel Taylor made 30 saves for his first professional shutout in the Manchester Monarchs
1-0 victory over the Milwaukee Admirals at the Bradley Center on Friday night. Left wing Petr Kanko scored the only goal of
the game. Admirals goaltender Pekka Rinne took the loss with 15 saves on the night. Manchester went 0-for-1 on the power
play. Milwaukee was 0-for-4 with the man advantage.

At Chicago (1/19): Center Jason Krog netted two goals as the former University of New Hampshire standout and his
Chicago Wolves topped the Manchester Monarchs 5-2 at the Allstate Arena on Saturday night. Center Brian Boyle got on
the scoreboard twice for the Monarchs. Defenseman Nathan Oystrick, center Steve Martins and defenseman Brian Fahey
added to Krog’s two tallies for the Wolves. Manchester goaltender Erik Ersberg took the loss with 28 saves. Wolves
netminder Robert Gherson earned the win stopping 29 shots. Manchester went 0-for-5 on the power play. Chicago was 3-
for-6 with the man advantage.






MONARCHS NEWS & NOTES

The Monarchs (19-18-4-2) are in fifth place in the Atlantic Division with 44 points.

Manchester collected eight points out of a possible 12 by winning 4-of-6 games during their six game road trip.

The Monarchs’ six game road winning streak ended with their 4-1 loss o the Rockford IceHogs on Wednesday, January 16.

Manchester is winless in their last six games (0-4-1-1) at the Verizon Wireless Arena, a franchise record.

The Monarchs have a home record of 8-11-1-1 and a road record of 11-7-3-1.

The Monarchs power play remains atop the AHL with a 25.9-percentage and the penalty kill is in 28th place with 76.7-
percent.

The Monarchs have the best home power play record as they have scored 28 goals on 90 opportunities at the Verizon
Wireless Arena. They are ranked fifth on the road with a power play record of 22 goals on 103 opportunities.

Manchester has scored at least one power play goal in 13 of their 19 wins this season.
23 of the 43 Monarchs games thus far this season have been determined by one goal.

The Monarchs are 11-6-4-2 in one
goal games, 2-5-0-0 in two goal games, 1-6-0-0 in three goal games and 5-1-0-0 in four goal games.

Manchester is 13-3-1-0 when leading after the first period and 13-1-1-0 when leading after the second period.

When scoring first in the game, the Monarchs are 13-5-2-0.

The Monarchs took their first road loss on Saturday on January 19 against the Chicago Wolves to bring their road Saturday

Right wing Teddy Purcell (14-39=53) leads the Monarchs with 53 points in 40 games. Recalled by the Los Angeles Kings
on Tuesday, January 15, the 6-foot-3, 195-pound native of St. John’s Newfoundland, made his debut against the Edmonton
Oilers that night. Purcell has been held off the scoreboard in three games with the Kings.

Purcell has scored at least one point in 31-of-40 games with the Monarchs this season.

Purcell’s 53 points are also ranked third in the AHL for overall scoring and is ranked first among rookies.

The rookie’s 14 goals are tied for fifth place among league rookies.
His 39 assists rank third in the AHL in that category and also rank first among rookies.

Purcell’s 25 assists on the power play are tied for first place in the AHL with defenseman Peter Harrold.

His nine power play goals are tied for fourth place overall with linemate left wing Matt Moulson. Purcell’s power play tallies
are also tied for second among rookies.

Gauthier (13-26=39) is ranked second on the Monarchs squad with 39 points in 37 games.

Gauthier’s 26 assists are ranked third on the Monarchs squad.

Gauthier has scored at least one point in 24-of-37 games this season.

Gauthier’s 39 points are tied for 10th in the AHL.

Gauthier’s 26 assists are also tied for 14th place in the AHL in that category.

16 of Gauthier’s 26 assists this season have come on the power play which ties him for fifth place in the AHL for power play
assists.

Gauthier’s eight power play goals are tied for 10th place in the AHL among power play tallies.

Harrold leads Monarchs blueliners and is tied for third on the team with 38 points (7-31=38) in 42 games.

25 of Harrold’s 31 assists have come on the power play which ties him for the league lead with Purcell.

The second year defenseman is also tied for first among defensemen with 38 points and leads blueliners with 31 assists.

Center Brian Boyle is tied with Harrold for third place on the Monarchs squad this season and ranked second among AHL
rookies with 38 points (19-19=38).

Boyle is also ranked second among AHL rookies with 126 shots on goal this season.

Boyle’s 11 power play goals are ranked third overall and first among rookies.

The rookie center’s three game-winning goals are also tied for second place among rookies.

Boyle’s 19 goals lead AHL rookies.

Right wing Kevin Westgarth is tied for 13th in the AHL in penalty minutes with 119 in 39 games. Westgarth is also ranked
third among rookies in penalty minutes. He has 17 major penalties that also rank first among rookies.

Goaltender Erik Ersberg is spending the majority of time between the pipes for the Monarchs. In 26 games between the
pipes, Ersberg has a record of 10-10-2, a 2.93 goals-against-average and a .897 save-percentage.

Netminder Daniel Taylor has won his last three starts in net with the Monarchs. In nine games this season, Taylor has a
record of 5-2-0, 2.37 goals-against-average and a .923 save-percentage.
Taylor earned his first professional shutout by stopping all 30 shots by the Milwaukee Admirals in the Monarchs 1-0 win on
Friday, January 18.
