Fifth-place Manchester trails fourth-place Springfield by a point for the last playoff spot in the Atlantic Division. The Monarchs with points in seven of their last 10 could make it a hot race. Tonight Springfield. winless in two straight, is at first-place Providence and tomorrow Springfield hosts sixth-place Worcester, which is desperately trying to fight its way back into the playoff picture.
"It seems kind of strange to be talking about the playoffs at this point in the season with two months left," said Monarchs coach Mark Morris, "but we do have to keep showing progess if we want to continue to be in the playoff hunt."
