The battle of three for the fourth and final playoff spot in the AHL Atlantic Division restarts tonight following the all-star break.
The fifth-place Manchester Monarchs (21-19-4-2) trail the fourth-place Springfield Falcons (20-18-4-5) by a point. The Worcester Sharks (19-18-3-3) are five points out of fourth.
Tonight Manchester, the Los Angeles Kings affiliate, faces the third-place Portland Pirates at 7:05 in the Cumberland County Civic Center, where the Anaheim Ducks' affiliate has won six of its last seven. Before the all-star break the Monarchs lost two of three on the road, that coming after they had won six consecutive on the road fighting their way into playoff contention.
