Niko Dimitrakos out of the University of Maine scored twice in the game and twice in the shootout with his winner coming in a rare sudden death portion of the shootout as the Binghamton Senators edged the Monarchs 5-4.
Monarchs (15-15-4-2, 36 points) remain on a franchise-record five-game losing skid at home. Although they earned points in two straight games this weekend, the Monarchs fell behind Worcester to sixth in the seven-team Atlantic Division.
"That's a tough loss," said coach Mark Morris after his Monarchs had fought back to tie twice and never led but had victory seemingly within reach on many occasions.
