Pascal Pelletier's goal at 9:01 of sudden-death overtime gave the Providence Bruins a 3-2 victory over the Manchester Monarchs last night in Game 1 of an Atlantic Division semifinal series.
Pelletier scored on a wrist shot from the slot.
Game 2 is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. on Friday at Dunkin' Donuts Center while Games 3 and 4 are set for the Verizon Wireless Center on Saturday and Monday.
After failing to score on two power plays, Manchester got on the board first in the opening period thanks to a goal from an unlikely source: Petr Kanko.
