Slovenia's only star Anze Kopitar looked over Canada's impressive roster and happily predicted a lopsided result in the opening game of the IIHF world hockey championship.
"If we can keep it down to maybe five goals that would be good," he said, adding it was still going to be a blast for his tiny nation of unknowns to play Canada. "We've got nothing to lose. We're just going to go out and have fun."
The Slovenians play the USA after Canada, then take on Latvia in a game that ought to determine which of those two underdog teams are banished to the relegation round. As their only National Hockey Leaguer, the 20-year-old sniper for the Los Angeles Kings will be looked at to lead the way here, but he maintains he'll concentrate on the defensive side of the game against Canada and won't be burdened by expectations until the important third game.
