It appears the Los Angeles Kings are beginning to find their skating legs. How else would you explain their sudden turnaround following a dreadful start to the season, which included 12 losses in the month of December?
"The schedule-maker wasn’t kind to us,’’ said Los Angeles coach Marc Crawford, referring to his team’s 16-game slate in December. "If you’re fatigued and don’t get the necessary goaltending, you’re not going to win many games in this League. It’s not an excuse, but just the facts. Our team has competed at a good level lately and we just have to continue doing that.”
The Kings, who entered the week with a League-low 51 points (24-31-3), will complete a season-long eight-game road trip, spanning 15 days, tomorrow in St. Louis. It was just the sixth time in their 41 seasons the Kings had a road trip of eight or more games.
