KOPITAR CONTINUES HOT PLAY AT EDMONTON
Anze Kopitar tallied a goal and an assist last night vs. the Oil and leads the Kings with a career-high 62 points (28-34=62) and 28 goals (tied with Dustin Brown). He’s in the midst of a three-game goal-scoring streak (Feb. 21 to present), which ties a career high (third time he’s done it, all of which have come this season).
In those three games Kopitar has seven points (3-4=7). He has eight goals in the last 11 games, 24 points in the last 24 games (12-12=24), 44 points in the last 46 games (20-24=44) and 48 points in the last 50 games (23-25=48). The Kings are 14-7-4 when Kopitar scores a goal. Last season, he finished with 61 points (20-41=61).
BROWNIE THREE-POINT GAME CONTINUES CAREER YEAR
Dustin Brown scored two goals and added an assist at Edmonton last night and is third on the club with a career-high 49 points (28-21=49) in 61 games.
His 28 goals are tied with Anze Kopitar for the team lead. Brown has six multi-goal games this season (nine in career) and 12 multi-point games (25 in career). His three-point night (2-1=3) Feb. 28 in Edmonton tied a career high (third time he’s done it, all of which have come this season). Last season, he finished with 46 points (17-29=46). Brown also leads the NHL with 261 hits this season.
