The season has ended for Kings' No. 1 goalie Jason LaBarbera.
LaBarbera, whose last game was against Phoenix on Feb. 18, has been out of the lineup with what was an injured groin. He had surgery this morning to repair a sports hernia, the team said. The procedure was performed by Dr. Craig Smith at the Beach District Surgery Center in Redondo Beach.
The recovery period is anywhere from eight to 10 weeks.
"On the positive side, he will have a full recovery," said Kings Coach Marc Crawford. "It shouldn't affect his training for next year. He's tried to play with it, and after the last game, he said there was something really wrong."
