Kings' Blake wants to stay in Los Angeles (TSN)

It looks like Los Angeles Kings defenceman Rob Blake's name can be taken off the trade market.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the 38-year old, who will be a free agent on July 1 does not want to waive his no trade clause and has not been asked by the team to do so.

"I want to stay here and remain a King," said Blake told the Times. "I stressed that with them and talked about the plans of the Kings and the future and a lot of different things. That was it."

Hmm, Blake's handlers must have gauged fan reaction of his previous comments that he'd consider a trade and realized that if he wants to regain LA King Icon status he needs to stay.

Blake, please go so we can get some picks.. Were not going anywhere this year and it has been proved that the team can win without you. Then resign with the Kings in the summer and we will welcome you with open arms and retire your jersey when your done playing. Its a win win for everyone.
