KINGS ASSIGN DEFENSEMAN JON KLEMM TO MANCHESTER (AHL)



LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings have assigned defenseman Jon Klemm to the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi today announced.


Klemm, 38, has played in six games for the Kings this season, and has zero points and two penalty minutes. He has played in 21 games this season with Manchester, where he has served as captain, and has one point (an assist) and 24 penalty minutes. The 6-2, 205-pound native of Cranbrook, British Columbia, is a veteran of 14 NHL seasons, and he has recorded 142 points (42-100=142) and 428 penalty minutes in 757 career NHL games.

The Kings conclude their season-high six-game homestand today against Dallas at 1 p.m. The game will be broadcast on FSN West, on KTLK AM 1150 and along the Kings Radio Network.

I don't understand why they would call him up... scratch him for like 3 straight games. Play him in 1, scratch him for another one... then send him down.

Then again, he did get called up around his birthday. Oh well!

He was up because of Dallman's injury. Also consider they were getting very close in days to having to pass him through waivers to be able assign him to Manchester...
