While no official numbers have been released, team president of business operations Luc Robitaille said the Kings are losing millions of dollars a year, even more than before the NHL lockout that was supposed to solve team's financial woes.
Front-office members say the ticket increases will bring the team more in line with other NHL teams, and they claim that the Kings are in the bottom half of the NHL in terms of average season-ticket prices.
The Kings say that increasing ticket prices now will improve their bottom line, increase the chances of signing young stars such as Anze Kopitar and Jack Johnson to long-term contracts and prevent future steep increases.
``We don't want to have one good year and say, `OK, prices are going up 25 percent,''' chief marketing officer Chris McGowan
But, but they ranked so high in fan satisfaction! Since the fans are so satisfied of course they wouldn't mind paying more money to continue enjoying the product, right?
Maybe they are losing money because they are paying way too much for way less tallented players than that salary should be getting them. Blake has definitely not been worth the $12million he made over the last two seasons. McCauley played just 10 games and made about $69-$70 thousand per each of those games by the time the one season and the buyout was paid. Cloutier has really earned his money too, right? The list doesn't stop there by any means, there are millions more that could be mentioned.
Instead of sticking the fans with a garbage product and asking them to pay more for the failure of that product, how about getting something that the fans will be happy about and then asking them to pay a little more for a far superior return? Of course, Luc could offer to take a lower salary and save the fans a bit. I bet his salary could buy quite a few season ticket packages.

Some posters around here just like to make up things to suit their personal opinions and then others use them as facts in the future.
Seriously, This should be the last straw as far as Season Ticket holders go.... If they tell you they want more money tell them no. Don't renew your seats..... This is ludicrous...
