GAME AT A GLANCE: The Calgary Flames knew going in the Los Angeles Kings would put up a decent fight for two points Friday and they did just that -- and more. They wanted revenge and they got it, devouring the Calgary club 6-3.
Prior to tonight's match, the Flames had three straight wins this season against the Kings and won their last three games against Los Angeles in 2006-07. But unlike their domination in past games, tonight was a different story. The Kings were on top of their game and although it was their first at home in eight games, they were eager to get back to business at the Staples Center.
Another dominating factor in previous contests against the California club was Flames' forward Daymond Langkow, who had seven goals and nine points in three games. He also had all three game winning goals.
And Langkow didn't disappoint tonight registering the Flames first goal of the game 4:15 into the opening frame. With the Kings' Kevin Dallman drawing first blood moments earlier, Calgary captain Jarome Iginla feeds a cross ice pass to linemate Kristian Huselius, but when Huselius fans on the shot, Langkow is right there to make the play. It's a quick top shelf shot that beats Jason Labarbera and ties the game at one.
