Jinx? What jinx?
Anze Kopitar is quickly putting an end of the sophomore jinx theory.
The 20-year-old Los Angeles Kings forward wasn't among the three finalists for the NHL's rookie-of-the-year award last season -- despite scoring 20 goals and 41 assists in 72 games.
And this season, he's piled up 18 goals and 24 assists and will be the youngest player competing in the Jan. 27 all-star game in Atlanta.
Unfortunately, there's no award for the best sophomore.
"I thought last year he got snubbed," Kings head coach Marc Crawford told the Los Angeles Times. "I think he's the one from last year who has continued to excel all year."
