About This Page: This is a discussion on LA Kings News within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. Enough already.
Enough bluster. Enough talk of a different future.
Enough mediocre/simply bad hockey.
It is time for Philip Anschutz to sell the Kings. Time to wave goodbye.
Please.

It has been 13 years of failure for the Kings under Anschutz. Thirteen years with one playoff series victory. Thirteen years of pained, absentee ownership.
Devoted Kings fans deserve better. The Kings deserve better. A lot better.
Dilbeck states Anschutz and Leiweke aren't involved in the day-to-day activities of the Kings and that DL is building a promising core, yet he wants to see an ownership change? Why? So the new owners can start the whole process all over again? No thank you. The hockey team is finally in the hands of someone that wants to see it succeed. Whether or not DL makes that happen remains to be seen, but I like what he's doing. The last thing I want to see is some new owner come in, clean house in management and then start wheeling and dealing draft picks and prospects in order to try to win right now. Mortgaging the future in order to return to mediocre hockey. We've seen enough of that. It hurts to watch the Kings right now, but DL is building the right way.
Who was it that wanted to buy a franchise for the Las Vegas market? Jeffrey Katzenberg? I can't remember. A rich Hollywood producer that loves hockey. Why not sell it to him if there needs to be an ownership change.
Jerry Brukheimer is the celebrity that wants an NHL franchise. I do not think that the timing is right for an ownership change. That said Jerry loves hockey and has a regular game with Cuba Gooding Jr and others celebrities. That would be a boost to the Kings image and would create a larger fan base. I just don't know whether or not Jerry has the expertise to turn this around. I say stay the course for 2 more years.
The Anschutz-Lieweke regime has been a disaster. Anschutz is a ****. The writer is right about Kings fans. We'll support the team and love hockey no matter what. Our attendance is the only thing that has given AEG any cover. If ten thousand people a game were showing up the emperor would have no clothes and they would have sold the team--in their own interest--long ago. If Bruckheimer is willing to buy they should sell the club to him tomorrow. He loves hockey and he knows the King players and he wouldn't wreck the core of the team.

I also thought that was a great article. I am sick of the AEG corporate owners. I want an owner who cares. Who goes to the games. Not ones who builds LA Live and sponsors Tour of California.

So, you want McNall and creative financing back I see.

Seriously. There are 2 things I want an owner to do:
1. Support the organization financially.
2. Butt the hell out of operations.
I couldn't possibly care less if Anschutz ever shows his face at Staples, or even knows the names of the players, and can't understand those of you who do care about such things. Would you prefer a n Al Davis-style ownership? I sure as hell know I wouldn't.

Yeah, it really sucks how AEG has built an entire organization from top to bottom including two fully stocked minor league teams, a brand new practice facility and an additional hockey team in Europe.
They finally put a GM in place that is secure enough in his own ability to judge talent that he doesn't go for the quick fix, and now you want them to take a hike just when they are finally getting it right. Brilliant.
