LOS ANGELES: The Kings will unveil a predominantly black jersey with the letters “L A” inside a pencil-point logo on the front. Broad white stripes will adorn each arm. A thin white stripe will run horizontally on each side of the jersey, just beneath the shoulder. There are no stripes at the bottom of the uniform. The color purple – widely evident in the Kings’ primary jersey – will likely be featured in the number outlines of the alternate, though the photo copy I have doesn’t clearly show it. A better idea would have been a reprise of the Kings’ original purple and gold uniforms from 1967, but the club marketers are apparently not bent on tradition.

That sounds awful. I wanted a Gretzky era jersey. Maybe with a full crown logo instead of the chevy bowtie.

Rosters are always so outdated on hockey video games. It's like they neglect it. Sergei Fedorov is still on the Red Wings on NHL 09 probably too...

Yeah, EA Sports seems to use last years roster when they make the game and everything. If the game comes out on say... Sept 15. Then their final roster would be from August 1st or whatever.

So basically, by the time the season starts... the rosters are almost always outdated already because they don't know who made the team or not. (Especially the AHL guys).

Then EA Sports takes their sweet ass time to release a roster update by the time Thanksgiving/Christmas rolls around. =\

They already give away enough tickets to them in those half way house give-aways. Just add a few more gangsters on nights when the Red Wings come to play.... that could be fun ;-)

What the hell is a "Pencil-Point" logo??? Old English style??? Anyone got an example?

By the way, in that FAN 590 article, they mention the plans for 3rd jerseys by other teams for the upcoming season. And it looks like there will be a run on black fabric this year. It's like almost every new 3rd jersey will be predominantly black and something. Is RBK giving 50% off black jerseys???

I hated the trend in the 90's when every pro sports team seemed to find a reason to add black to their colors on way or another. You know they went too far when the Cincinnati Reds added black....the freak'n Reds!!! Here we go again!!!
