Marc Crawford will join Hockey Night in Canada as a game analyst, the CBC announced Thursday morning. Crawford, who won the Stanley Cup as the Colorado Avalanche's head coach in 1995-96, was fired at the end of last season by the Los Angeles Kings.
Crawford, who won the Jack Adams Award in 1995 as the league's top coach, returns to the CBC broadcast booth as an analyst, bringing six years experience as an NHL forward and 13 years experience as an NHL head coach.
"We are excited to have Marc Crawford back on Hockey Night in Canada," Sherali Najak, HNIC's executive producer, said in a statement. "Marc's resume speaks for itself - as a former player and NHL head coach, he brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of the game, which is great for our broadcast."
