The Philadelphia Flyers announced that they have acquired 6’2”, 220-pound defenseman Jaroslav Modry (YAHR-roh-slav MOH-dree) from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for a third round pick in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, according to club General Manager Paul Holmgren.
"Jaroslav (Modry) is a steady two-way defenseman that will bring us leadership and experience down the stretch," said Holmgren in announcing the trade.
"I am definitely excited," said Modry. "I am going to a solid organization with the chance to win the ultimate goal. My season, all of a sudden, has turned around. It is a great challenge for me, and like I said I am very excited.
