The Philadelphia Flyers announced that they have acquired 6’2”, 220-pound defenseman Jaroslav Modry (YAHR-roh-slav MOH-dree) from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for a third round pick in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, according to club General Manager Paul Holmgren.
"Jaroslav (Modry) is a steady two-way defenseman that will bring us leadership and experience down the stretch," said Holmgren in announcing the trade.
Modry, 37, recorded a goal and five assists for six points and 42 penalty minutes in 61 games for the Kings this season. He is tied for second on the team in plus/minus at +2.
