Patrick O'Sullivan, who grew up in Sterling Heights and played for the Ann Arbor-based U.S. National Team Development Program, scored 39 seconds into the third period. He gained control of a loose puck on a rebound and fired a wrist shot into the top left corner.
The Kings tied the game at 3 on Alexander Frolov's power-play goal at 6:15, with 44 seconds remaining in a hooking penalty to Jiri Hudler.
The Kings got another power-play goal seven minutes later, when Brad Stuart scored on a shot from the blue line. Anze Kopitar scored 1:32 later on a backhander in the slot to give the Kings a two-goal cushion.
"I didn't think we played well, really, throughout the whole game," said Wings forward Dan Cleary, who assisted on Zetterberg's second goal. "I think we had a stretch for about 10 minutes where we played well, controlled the play and got some goals. But four unanswered goals -- I didn't think we played well defensively, turned the puck over too much and took too many penalties."
