Former Kings defenseman Jaroslav Modry has been nominated for the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy by the Los Angeles chapter of the Professional Hockey Writers Assn.
The Trophy is presented each year to the NHL player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey.
Though Modry, 37, was traded to the Flyers shortly before the deadline in February, his impact on the Kings was considerable this season.
