Instead of heading into the All-Star break with sole possession of first place in the division, the Ducks are on their first their first three-game losing streak since Oct.20-25.
The Ducks are 27-20-6 and 12-5-2 since the return of Scott Niedermayer, but Thursday might leave a bad taste in their mouth given the two points lost. First-place Dallas, which leads the Ducks by one point in the division, lost to Buffalo on Thursday.
"For whatever reason, the last three games we haven't been playing smart," Niedermayer said. "There's a lot of turnovers, a lot of mistakes being made, and you're not going to win hockey games like that.
