Victory was the bare minimum required of the Devils New Jersey Devils last night. Even this minor feat of panic prevention, however, was not achieved without the coach and his captain barking at each other.
The exchange between Brent Sutter and Jamie Langenbrunner Jamie Langenbrunner in the second period of the Devils' 6-3 triumph over the Kings in Newark followed a Langenbrunner mistake that kept the game in momentary suspense.
"Sometimes player's emotions run, and my emotions run, too," Sutter said. "But never once has there been a lack of respect. I have no problem at all with Jamie showing his emotions. I hope he has no problem with me showing mine.
"It's showing their passion."
