There were many critics of Cloutier during his five years with the Vancouver Canucks -- it was written in this space after the 2003 playoffs that the National Hockey League team had outgrown its goalie, who should play elsewhere -- but no one ever doubted his character and conviction and willingness to battle through adversity.
From the winter day in 2001 when he arrived from the Tampa Lightning in 2001 and helped speed the Canucks' revival as a franchise, to the summer morning in 2006 when he was traded to the Los Angeles Kings, Cloutier led with his heart.
Dan Cloutier is convinced the Los Angeles Kings have ruled him out of any future goaltending plans.
He didn't know any other way. But now he knows better.

Maybe if he didn't suck so bad he wouldn't have had to have his baby in a Super 8. Why not use some of our wasted 6.2 million to pay for an apartment if it was so important to you. Why the hell should the franchise waste one more penny on a whiny bitch like you.
No, it sure won't. Sounds like he's been treated like crap and him coming out with that won't sit easy with the big shots.
I doubt he was treated like crap. He was signed to be the #1 Goalie. I don't believe a word out of his mouth. Sounds like he want's to be bought out and is giving the Kings a reason to do it now.

exactly. he was given every opportunity to be the number one. It was handed to him, and he screwed it all up. If he had played better, and not be last in all major goalie stats, then maybe he doesn't feel so jaded and stays in the NHL. instead, he plays the "poor me, it's not my fault, it's their fault" B.S. like some sort of spoiled adolescent. I hope he goes to a team within the Pacific and we get to tear him apart frequently. I want to see him go all "Cloutier" on one of our forwards, start swinging and stuff, just so I can see him get knocked into the crossbar, ala Jamie Storr/Courtnall. Is that bad? Oh well.....
