With Kings practice beginning to break up Monday at Toyota Sports Center, Michael Cammalleri made a surprise appearance on the ice.
The forward skated around for about half an hour without a puck, his first extended ice time since injuring his ribs during a scuffle in the first period against Nashville on Dec. 22.
Wearing a red jersey, he took a few laps around the rink and made some sharp turns near the boards. Cammalleri didn't show any indication the ribs were bothering him. He did prove to be out of shape, often hunched over.
"I got the red face going, that's for sure," Cammalleri said. "That's why I wore the (red) jersey, because I knew I'd blend in.
