Default Balance lost in the shuffle (Chicago Tribune)

Coach Denis Savard shuffled his forward lines for the Blackhawks' West Coast trip with the intent of bringing balance to his team.

The result of the first of three games in four nights was about as uneven as a game can get. The Hawks fell 9-2 to the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday night at the Staples Center for their second loss in a row, both to the Kings.

Further complicating matters was a knee injury to rookie standout Jonathan Toews, who left after playing 3 minutes 29 seconds and didn't return. The center will be evaluated Wednesday to determine the extent of the damage.
