Okay, so Gal VanIZed said that we were invited to Jenna Talia's July 4th party at the historic Villa Riviera on Ocean and Alamitos and I was all, "Hellz Yeah!". I was born in Long Beach and had never been inside the huge structure with gargoyles perched high above surveying the traffic far below. It was a pleasure to see the inside of the Villa Riviera, especially some of the archival photos they have as artwork on the walls that show it in it's heyday and even early construction.
The party was out on the terrace in the perfect spot to view the warfare on the beach below as well as the City of Long Beach fireworks that were shot from a barge on stage left. There was plenty of booze and munchies flowing and even time to take in Jenna's apartment on the ocean side at the perfect height for both ocean scenery and people watching.
All-in-all it was the perfect way to take it all in, especially with the occasional blast from Jenna's bullhorn to inform the beach-goers of the current fine for littering and other pertinent information. It was a riot!
Thanks to Jenna an everyone else for making us feel so welcome.
By the way, if I every refuse to go to a party being hosted by someone named Jenna Talia, please kill me.
