Last night's Derby Dolls bout between the Tough Cookies and the Sirens was another nailbiter as the TOUGH COOKIES came from behind during the final few jams to make their season record a perfect 2-0. The Sirens star jammer, Mila Minute, was ejected from the contest for too many penalties which opened the door for the amazing comeback by the Cookies.
It was another sellout at the Doll Factory with people being turned away at the front door, so if you are planning on going next month be sure to get tickets online early. It was great to see Beerman and Henry from LGK in the stands, I hope to see more of you next time! Ask these two if it was cool or not
I'll have a lot of pictures later today, here's a celebrity who was there to take in the roller girl action . . .
Plus I was crowded in by a set of what can only be descibed as "frat" boys.
Sample of overheard conversation:
Yellow tee frat boy:"Dude! Why don't dudes do this? It'd be awesome!"
Bald black tee frat guy:"That'd be gay dude."
YTFG:"F that! It'd be rad! Like Rollerball"
BBTFG:"With LL Cool Jay?"
As soon as Mila Minute hit the track they were in it to win it! She totally impressed them.
It was Sirens all the way!
They loved the first half.
The second half blew their minds.
They were really emotionally invested in the Sirens.
When Mila was ejected a dark cloud ascended on Frat boy friends. One had a girlfriend soothing him while he ignored her and texted. They nixed the idea of seeing "Hell On Wheels"
When the Tough Cookies won they left in a huff.
So, yeah, please, please, save me from Fratty Mcgee and his inane conversations.Why do douchebags always talk so loud? I was RIGHT NEXT to the speaker. I was sitting behind them! I could still hear their asanine observations! Oh and the girlfriend kept her balled up floral jacket on the seat between us...it was everything I could do to not send that thing under the bleachers.
ahem.
The cookies with the pretzel stuck in top were DEElicious!!
Drew smells like patchouli...heavy heavy patchouli. I think she is cute as bug but I abhor patchouli so we will never be homies.
March 15th.
I'm torn! I heart Fighty but want to stick with the Cookies!
