View Poll Results: Do you tip your tow truck driver
tipping your tow truck drivers. No, I'm serious. We come out there. Work our asses off. Change your tire on the side of the freeway with big rigs wizzing by us within 2 feet at 60 mph and get you on your way and you can barely nod an acknowledgment and grunt out a thanks. We tow you in your time of need and sometimes even fix your car and get you going again. Ladies, we show up in the wee hours of the morning in places you shouldn't have been in the first place (probably cheating on your husbands you filthy whores) and jump start you or unlock your car or fill up you gas tank (yes all very euphamistic I know) And how many of you people actually tip your tow truck driver? Your friendly AAA service technician ? **** it. I'm gonna make a poll.

When the tow truck driver can do something for me I've tipped them..
However the last 2 time I've called the driver has pulled up and told me they couldn't tow our bronco cuase it was to big and left my wife on the side of the road. :( Kinda sucked.. Both times I was able to fix it and get it home, but both times she was left on the side of the road for over 2 hours. :( Guess that's the draw back of driving a bronco with 40" tires on it. Was the main reason I bought a F250 that can pull it.
i can't vote always, hatter, but i actually did tip my driver the one and only time i ever needed a tow when i broke down on the freeway once while en route to my girlfriend's work. it was getting late, she was the last adult there and had a flat... and he hooked me up, took me somewhere to leave my car to get fixed, then took me a couple of miles to her car, and HE fixed the tire. i never knew the tipping etiquette for that job, but i did it anyway because i thought it was WAY necessary... and i gave him a cig.
but in general, yeah, anyone who does something for you in a service capacity should be tippped.

Depends on a country. There are countries where you actully get a salary for the work you do.
Seriously, my friend had an accident a year ago and tow truck driver did such an amazing job that he wanted to tip him. The guy refused the tip, he gets payed to help people. Tipping in USA, as I understand, is a pretty big thing...

in this country you do as well... the tipping is called having class.
It never even occurred to me to tip my tow truck driver the one time I needed one. In my defense, I was 17 and didn't have a job. But if I broke down now, I would tip for sure. It's dangerous, hot, physical work.
