I want to know if the generous and multi-faceted community that is LGK donates their time to a public cause.
Are you "official"? Do you take your dog

Are you "official"? Do you take your dog to the hospital to play with sick kids? Ever worked the soup line at a homeless shelter?
Maybe you are clandestine and put money in expired meters? Perhaps you compulsively pick up trash while at a park, forest or beach?
I am a docent for the City of LA at a Frank Lloyd Wright house. My employer gives me time off once a month to lead tours and talk about the house and its history.
It's pretty great.
It's not the most nitty gritty of public services but I am filling a huge need at the Department Of Cultural Affairs.
I also never miss the neighborhood walk and participate in any other neighborhood event or service I can.
...And I put money in meters and pick up trash compulsively.
How about you guys?

The toot your own horn thread, huh? I should be good at this.
Parking meter thing, yes. I bring like $5 in quarters to the beach every time I go.
No matter where I go, I leave my change on the counter for someone else to use, because it sucks having no change when your sandwhich and soup is $7.03 (darn you Subway!)
I buy servicemen and service women drinks when I'm out, gone so far as to buy their dinner when i had the money on me.
I am that guy who loves helping someone push their car when they're stuck on the street, and stop on the freeway (at least make sure they got a phone) quite a bit when I see people are stuck on the side (probably once a month)
I donate money randomly when I like a cause (not a lot, but something)
All of this really just makes me realize I don't do a whole hell of a lot, aside from little things. I think I fail.
That blows.
Although I do consider my side gig a public service... even though I get paid well for it. If that counts, I kick ***
