I'm already accustomed to Patsy, Dolly, Johnny, Hank(s), Dwight and Merle…but I need more. I want “genuine”, ****-kickin' country music, not that

Okay, so I wanna...
git into some country music: who? what? why?
I'm already accustomed to Patsy, Dolly, Johnny, Hank(s), Dwight and Merle…but I need more. I want “genuine”, ****-kickin' country music, not that glorified and over produced hybrid bull****; and no ballads either, I need upbeat stuff for my runs. Did you notice I used "git", pretty funny, eh?

If you're looking for more contemporary country, Brooks & Dunn, Alan Jackson, George Strait, and Toby Keith are good to start with.

May I suggest donkey shows in TJ? More entertaining shows and much classier crowds.

Sticky is right abt those guys. Check out what they've recorded.
For you Country Music haters, what's wrong with listening to music that you can actually hear the words being sung? Maybe he's tired of being screamed at by some bands.

Directv's 101 channel is going to be putting up a bunch of new country concerts for the rest of the summer so I recommend you watch those.

Go pick up some Gram Parsons -James Burton on guitar with a young Emmylou Harris....good stuff.
Earlier then that get the Best of the Flying Burrito Brothers. Amazing catchy stuff for country rock.

First thing on your ipod should be "timebomb" by the old 97's. if that don't get you moving, nothing will.
a lot of their stuff is pretty cool. early rockabilly is nice, too. charlie feathers, eddie cochran, duane eddy, carl perkins.....
oh, and junior brown. and the paladins. and the driveby truckers if you want to go for the southern rock angle, as well.
