Role Level: Manager

Client: Large Media & Entertainment Client
Location: Burbank, CA
Number of Direct Reports: 3
Work Hours: M-F, 9am – 7pm PST. Rotating after-hours pager support may be required. Position often requires work hours outside normal hours. Not eligible for overtime. No travel required. Relocation assistance available for the right candidate up to a limit.
Role Description:
The client system is an enterprise Digital Asset Management system used by over 28 business units throughout company and at the corporate level. It currently services over 12,000 named users and over 35,000 external users via integration with various B2B/B2C portals. Our company has been contracted out to provide Application Support, Management and Development services and meet Service Level Agreements (SLA) based on high availability, incident response & restore times, and delivery of system enhancements.
The primary tasks of the Application Management/Delivery Lead are:
*Manage and execute incident management activities
*Manage and execute problem management activities
*Manage and execute enhancement and service request activities
*Manage packaged and custom software test, configure and release cycles
*Analyze, design and manage development of custom software for small and medium scope enhancements
*Maintain updated information about available capacity of development team resources who are direct reports
*Prepare system, application and resource status reports for consumption by client stakeholders and management
*Lead team and client meetings to discuss service delivery activities
Technical Skills that will allow a person to succeed in the role:
*At least 1 year of experience in supporting high availability enterprise applications in a lead role or 2 years in a non-lead role
*Strong knowledge of core Java concepts
*Strong Understanding of behavior and configuration enterprise web applications built on java technologies
*Strong experience troubleshooting N-Tier enterprise applications
*Strong understanding of enterprise databases and SQL performance tuning
*Strong understanding of Unix based operating systems and how to troubleshoot system based performance or application problems
*Experience designing small/medium scale software based on requirements and producing detailed design documents
*Creating test plans and overseeing test plan execution
Management Skills:
*Be able to manage available capacity of resources who are direct reports
*Be able to direct the work efforts of junior application management/development team members
*Be able to estimate work efforts and produce work plans for those efforts
*Be able to identify risks and document them
*Be able to manage multiple, simultaneous work streams or activities in an environment where priorities often shift in real time (CRITICAL SKILL)
Communication Skills:
*Be able to interact with client stakeholders at the end user and mid-level management level
*Be proactive in communication with client stakeholders
*Have a client service first mentality
*Be able to prepare for and lead meetings with client stakeholders at the end user and mid-level management level
*Be able to mentor junior application management/development team members
Nice To Have Skills:
*Experience with managing or working with offshore/nearshore application management or delivery teams
*Fluency in Spanish
