IF you want to try.......
no processed flours, very low carbs and focus on protein first,80-100 grams a day. no sodas or caffeine. Lost of water 64ounces daily minimum. When you eat meat super lean cuts with high protein, Buffalo is bets 43 grams per patty from Trader joes. Turkey, chicken no skin. You be healthier and happier on no time.
Might still get this every once in a while (bowl or salad, no tortilla and no chips) along with Pollo Loco, Subway...
Its really more about making healthy choices then anything. I've done well on weight watchers before but it's always felt strange to me that I can eat Jack in the Box tacos (very low calories) and still lose weight. Sure, I lost weight, but was I really getting healthier eating this garbage?
Going somewhere like Chipotle and cutting out the tortilla, cheese, and chips is still a HUGE step forward.

Sounds good man hop aboard! Plenty of room on this no-fun bandwagon, haha.

Oh, I'm plenty young, I'm only 22... but young is a relative term. Being a young 22 doesn't do me any good if I'm a dead 46

You can treat yourself once a week, and still lose 10 lbs per month. But you have to exercise too.
Good luck.
it's true. you should. deprivation is usually what leads to failure in any sort of diet.
ever since i've gotten older, i stay skinny by cutting the stuff out that i can live without.
with few & rare exceptions:
-milk
-fast food (this has actually been in effect for at least the last decade)
-mayo
-soda (only to be had with jack daniels)
i don't eat candy and i only eat meat half the week.
i love fried food though. that's my once a week thing.
btw. if you fast all day long and then drink copious amounts of booze and then throw up all night... that'll make you lose 5lbs each time. i don't advise doing that though...

Yes, no more of those crappy, high-sodium microwave meals. Check.
I just started drinking unsweetened green tea again and suggest you do too.
Gives you a little kick that you might normally get with soda without the carbonation, sugar, or artificial sweetener and the caffeine acts as an appetite suppressant.

I lost 60 pounds last year and it wasn't easy. Drink a ****load of water, cut out soda, limit your alcohol intake (I'm a realist) and eat a lot of small meals all day long. Also, spicy food keeps your metabolism going.
Also, check into 36 hour fasting. It's easy, and when you can eat again, you really don't want to eat crap...
I don't know about that, doesn't seem good for your metabolism/health. It's better to switch over to eating at least 6 smaller meals a day. That way you can still eat stuff you like, just less of it at one time.

Definitely allow a cheat day (or cheat meal) once a week. 5-6 meals a day works well for me, and I found it helpful to eat the carbs (complex, oatmeal, raisin bran, that kind of thing) in the morning, and transitioning to protein as the day goes on. Lots of fluids, tea, water. With moderate exercise, I find about 1800 calories a day for a 170-175 lbs man is a really good balance for me in terms of feeling full, losing fat, and keeping muscle.
The 1st 2 weeks are the hardest. Keep the healthy snacks within arm's reach ALWAYS because you will feel SO hungry all the time as your body adjusts to the new diet.
Been doing the South Beach diet with the wife, lost 30lbs, she has lost 20lbs
Basically 2 weeks with no carbs, then sensible eating with no processed foods like white breads, potatoes instead you do whole wheat and veggies, its pretty easy once you get going
