I'm sure law enforcement's biggest fan Serapher will claim it was entrapment.

When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade and open up a stand.
They'll only cite you for selling without a permit.
That happened at Carls Jr. when I worked there a while ago, 2 guys carjacked a couple at the drive up speaker by holding a BB gun to the wife's head. Turns out both the man and his wife were off duty OC sherriffs and the guy shot and killed one of them as they drove away. They shut down our store and used it for their investigations. I felt bad for the guy, he was a wreck and that was before he found out that he killed the guy.

I am sure there was an America's dumbest criminals episode, where a drug dealer walks up to a marked police cruiser without taking any notice of the car or occupants and trys to sell drugs to the cops.
Reminds me of something I saw in the TV a while ago:
Somewhere cops used a bait car to arrest car thieves. The car was fully equipped, surveillance, audio and remote controlled door locks and immobiliser.
So two thugs broke into the car, hot-wired it and drove away with big smiles in their faces. Suddenly the doors were locked, the engine's power was shut down and the theme from COPS was playing over the car's stereo while the cars with lights and siren approached.

Now the thug's faces were...priceless.
I love their "oh man! wtf!" look
