So, who's getting it? GameStop is opening their doors at 12:00 midnight tonight to sell copies - or is that 1:00 AM? I actually never played any of the previous versions of this game, but my son loves the N64 version (his after school program has N64), so I thought - what the heck?!?
I'm taking my $25 gift card that I got when I bought Super Mario Galaxy at Toys R Us, plus my $5 pre-order confirmation, tomorrow at 10:00 AM. I'll only have to shell out $20 and am looking forward to it after all the hype "Melee" got on GameCube.
I am planning on getting it tomorrow at Toys R Us, although I didn't pre order it. Hopefully I'll still be able to pick up a copy tomorrow after the GM Breakfast.

I was planning to get this when it was going to be released back in December of 2007, but it got delayed to Feb 2008... and now March 2008.
I still can't find a Wii in stores though (and no, I will not over pay on Ebay nor wait in line on a Sunday morning for a console that's been out for 18 months or so), so I guess I won't be getting this game until whenever.

If you live in the 909 try the Rancho Cucamonga Target on Sundays. I have 6 friends that have picked up Wii's including myself.
Apparently there have been some problems with Wii's reading the disc for Brawl and you may have to send your Wii to get it's laser fixed. Hope that doesn't happen with me.
I pre-ordered it at Blockbuster. Played it for a little bit today. It is definitely an awesome game that lives up to the hype. It surpasses all of its predecessors and the new characters are great though I still think Solid Snake seems out of place in there. Will be playing it all day tomorrow and will likely have a bunch of friends and coworkers over battling it out.

Nintendo shorted the U.S. market for awhile, so they could sell a bunch of Wii's with Super Smash Bros. in Japan. They are now flooding the U.S. with Wii's for the game's release here. They are trying to support the popularity of this game with more systems to sell. Good luck shopping!
Both the previous Smash Bros. kicked ass and althought I don't have a Wii, one of my friends does and I definately wanna check it out if he gets it. I want to play as the new characters...especially Sonic.
Super Mario Galaxy ate up a lot of my gaming time. There is a Single Player "story" mode in Super Smash Brothers to play through, plus several other Single Player game modes for you to unlock stuff. But the fun is in the multiplayer.
Sonic isn't a playable character out of the box, you have to unlock him. We don't have Sonic available yet.
The game has been awesome so far I've unlocked a good amount of Characters.
Spoiler if you don't want to know some of the characters.
Snake-Easy just play a bunch of quick matches on the Shadow Moses Island Stage, takes 15
Marth
Captain Falcon
Lucario
Ganondorf
Luigi
Ness
Falco
The hardest ones to unlock on there are Ganondorf(Beat Hard with Link or Zelda) and Lucario beat the target test, all 5 levels, with one character. I need to unlock Toon Link next.

Actually, my son unlocked Ganandorf and Lucario by playing through SSE mode. We have all of the above, but still need the following:
Sonic
Wolf
Toon Link
Jigglypuff
I think that's it - could be more I guess. We're still unlocking levels too.
I really need to get a Wii for this game and Mario Galaxy. SSB is one of my favorite series and the fact that Sonic is in it makes it even better...although Sonic has sucked ever since Nintendo got him.

Sonic is at the very end of the SSE mode so that may take some time. Toon Link and Wolf you get after you beat the SSE and go back and play The Forest and get Toon Link and The Ruins and get Wolf.
Jiggy I'm not sure how I unlocked him as the way to unlock him online sure as hell didn't work for me.
Ok found a link that tells you how.
1. Play 350 VS matches, then beat her in a match.
2. Complete the Subspace Emissary, then beat 20 events in Event Mode. Afterwards, beat her in a match.
3. Complete the Subspace Emissary, then return to Stage 18. On the last part of the level where you are shooting yourself through barrels, stop on the platform below the new door. Go in and beat Jigglypuff, then finish the stage.
Or you can run off a map in Brawl mode 300 times for Sonic, 350 for Jiggly, 400 for Toon Link, and 450 times for Wolf. That's how my friend did it and I made fun of him for it.

For the record, Nintendo does not own the rights to Sonic. Sega does. But since Sega doesn't have its own gaming system on the market anymore, they are now making games of Sonic for other gaming systems. In fact, the Sonic/Mario Olympics game was NOT released by Nintendo - it was released by Sega.
On another side note, Sammy - a big Pachinko and gambling company in Japan - bought Sega a year or two ago.
