I have done this for a a few year here on LGK but on Yahoo. I have decided to go with ESPN as this year is the first year they have a free legue set up and I manage a football and baseball league with friends.
This is a 16 team KEEPER Head to Head league - so you will continue on to the next season with a select # of players you decide to keep.
The ONLY requirement I have is that you commit to staying active throughout the entire season. No giving up 1/2 through when you think your team sucks or if you feel you didnt draft well. No trading your best players away to a friend near the trade deadline just because you are out of it....If you play that way, then please have the respect not to join so someone else may enjoy the game.
I put a lot of work into keeping this a fun league, so I expect the same from the teams....YES, smack talking is encouraged!
I am in the process of setting up the stats tonight but if you are interested in joining, PM me your email address, You will then get an invite from ESPN website with the link to join.
BTW - My leagues are very close to actual.....sooooooooo here is what you will be looking at:
Starting line-up will consist of 4 RW, 4 C, 4 LW, 6 D-men, 2 G, 3 Bench (scratches), 1 IR (if needed).
Stats will probably be: G, A, +/-, PPG, SHG, GWG, PIM, HITS - W, L, GAA, SV%, SO - to be finalized later
Looking to have 4 division of 4 teams (Labeled as Smythe, Norris, Adams, Patrick)
LIVE DRAFT!!!
8 Teams make the playoffs - Playoffs are 3 weeks

Thats true - Had to do labor on Labor day so didnt think about it being a holiday....
You should start seeing the invites by Friday!!!!!!!
BTW - Keeper leagues are more fun if you are involved in the league - prevents people from trading away their best players when they are out of the playoffs...since they need them for the next season....the season is played the same as any other other league....

Definitely a big difference by posting in this forum compared to the Kings Talk forum - last few years leagues were filled up within hours in that forum
OK - Draft happened...Not exactly a textbook draft as the first 5 rounds were not snaked....I think I figured out why it happened...Being a keeper league, I have to set how many keepers we will keep going into next season...well they had a slot for 09 keepers.....Apperantly it was 08-09 keepers and therefore the first 5 rounds were based on us keeping some players and those who did not keep their players had first choice.....Pretty stupid to d that the first year someone starts a league....
