Unique Force Unleashed Demo Imminent
Exclusive content coming in August.

UK, July 28, 2008 - The Force Unleashed is to be given the demo treatment, with a taster for the Star Wars action title coming in August that will feature content that won't be appearing in the final game.
Charting the rise of Darth Vader's secret apprentice, the game is set between the two cinema trilogies, with a story that is said to set it out as this year's definitive Star Wars experience. Vigilant blog videogaming247 has got word from LucasArts marketing manager Matt Shell that a demo will be coming to both PlayStation Network and Xbox Live, with an ending exclusive to the demo.
It's due to land at an unspecified date in August, with the full-fat experience scheduled for launch on September 16.
I was REALLY excited about this game, when first announced, being a HUGE fan of the Jedi Knight/Jedi Academy Series. But I think I'm going to pass on this one. From the screenshots I've seen, it just doesn't look that fun, everything just looks over the top, big explosions, big force powers...and why can't the guy hold a lightsaber properly?

Well, it appears that you are right. From what others have been saying, it looks pretty but they game play sucks ass. I don't have a gaming console so I can't play it. At this point, maybe that is a good thing.

If you can try the demo, I HIGHLY recommend it. They went to make this game and there was not a physics engine in existence that could do what they needed. So they combined THREE physics engines to come up with this game.
Do NOT go by screenshots Duke, the physics are a HUGE part of what makes this game unique.
Not to mention the storyline is supposed to change the way we feel about the Star Wars Universe forever.
I thought it was decent. The dark side ending is DARK, which was cool. Sometimes the camera angle pissed me off. Also boss fights were kinda annoying when there's only one guy on the screen you're fighting and you press to use your force powers and the guy just shoots them off into nothingness instead of hitting the target.

i agree. The controls were a little tough to get used to. Fighting vader was a pain in the butt because I kept throwing things into nothing and not hitting him. I did it like a million times before I beat the thing...

What platform are you playing it on?

The 360. I should probably also mention that I didn't play it in bitch mode. Seriously, on the easier difficulties you are, for all intents & purposes, invincible.

On the Wii, you don't have the option of choosing light or dark. It just runs through the story mode.
I am still on easy mode though, I want to find all of the lightsaber crystals and hilts
I was really skeptical about this game, but got it for my birthday and must say that I have been pleasantly surprised by just how much I have enjoyed playing it. Have some minor gripes, wishing you could customize the character more, play on the "Light" side, and I dislike the scripted kill sequences (not the boss ones as much as the AT-ST and Rancors), but the game has a great story and is great fun to play. Here's hoping they just continue to build on it.

I couldn't agree more with this, except I didn't get the game for my birthday

You sure? The choice is at the end. After you beat down vader's ass for the first time, you have a choice to either finish the job, or go after the emperor instead. Vader = dark side, Emporer = light. I have a hard time believing they would leave that out of the Wii version, but I guess stranger things have happened.
