I couldn't wait for the 360 demo, so I downloaded it.
I love the game! Of course, with the 2 analog sticks being the majority of your controls, I HATE they're right next to each other. It's not uncommon in this game have both sticks positioned towards each other. That's when thumbs start getting in the way and effecting the ability to control your player.

Not too bad. It may not be the jump that 07 to 08 was, but so far it is pretty satisfying. My thoughts:
-They tightened up the skating and puck physics, so there isn't so much craziness. Though the default speed is still a little fast.
-New checking system is much more rewarding. Not as magnetic as it was before, and if you line someone up you can really lay them out...especially in the corners.
-The puck protection button (A) is kinda neat. Makes driving to the net a bit easier, but doesn't look as cheesy as I thought it was going to.
-Be a Pro cam can get disorienting when it swings around, but it is probably something you get used to quickly.
-Stick lift could be very handy. Looks like it will be worth it if you can get the timing right.
-Computer is better at keeping their sticks in lanes and intercepting errant passes, which are a bit more common now.
-Going to have to get used to the fact that you can't use the poke check to extend your reach when going for a loose puck.
It's fun though. Can't wait to get the LGK team going.

I charged toward the net as Crosby while my defenseman took a shot on net from the blueline. Crosby turned at the waist mid-stride and made a half-hearted attempt at deflecting the puck.
I checked Zetterberg in the corner, and he did this awkward head-over-heels front flip thing and screwed up his elbow. It was hilarious.

Fighting is hilarious. I've only played on pro, but it takes two hits to knock someone out. EA looks like they are taking the same approach that 2K was a few years ago. The skating around and punching someone.
You gotta fight for the right to stand in front of the net. The opposing team will check and push you while you try and screen the goalie.
Speaking of goalies, they seem to have gotten smarter. More moves for them, especially in the shootout.
The checking is awesome. It seems more realistic than ever.
In Be a Pro mode, everything is ridiculously awesome. It really seems like teamwork and positiioning is key, which is how it should be. I seriously can't wait for the full game now.
Be a Pro mode on the demo is the main thing that won me over, A lot of the game seems similar to 08, but the Pro mode is too cool to pass up. Especially when you can play with other people on your team online.
Just buy this game because of Be a Pro mode. It'll be a great experience.
I'm drunk, so I'm sure this post was way too intimate.
There have been a couple "That went in? Really?" goals. I have yet to find the typical 'If I do this its a goal every time' move that this game usually has.
