OK RR, i dont know why i just found this page after months and months of playing but how does the rankings work?
The rankings are based upon your Gamerscore. It's not controlled by LGK. Rather, it's determined by how many gamerpoints you accumulate by playing games. Each game gives about 1000 points for performing certain tasks throughout the game. Some games are incredibly easy to rack up points and some are rather difficult.
To date I have not seen a game give lower than 1000 points or more than 1250 points. The exception would be the old school games you buy on Xbox Live Arcade. I have Frogger and the most gamerpoints you can rack up is 200.

Pretty much. I kid you not. I tried to get all the last achievements in Assassin's Creed. I've played that game about 10 hours this weekend and have 50 gamerpoints to show for it!!! Pisses me off. I can't find the last of 60 Templars. As for all the different kinds of flags I have them all except 1 or 2 of each kind.
So to make myself feel better I dusted off NHL 07 and started kicking some ass. haha
BTW.....man is NHL08 so much better than 07. I don't remember 07 being so bad but it's total crap compared to 08. The gameplay isn't even close.
Honestly. Who the hell plays 80k worth of gamer points.
I went from 540 gamerpoints to nearly 6000 in 2 months. It took A LOT of playing. I can't imaging keeping up that pace to get to 80,000. It woudl take me two years at the rate I've played the last 2 months.
I just changed my xbox live ID last week, so I have like 10 points.
But my kids took over my account, and now that I have my own Xbox, they can play on theirs, I can play on mine, I have my own account, they have theirs, all good.
The problem is, no way in hell will I go back and play all those games AGAIN just to accumulate points. Playing COD on the hardest level is almost no fun, its just doing the levels over and over until you get them right!
I played AC over the holiday break, and it was fun, got sort of repetitive though. I love Halo 3, but lately have been playing nothing but COD4. I LOVE that game.
On my kid's account I was like level 36 on my second time through the ranks. Now I am like level 18, but I am doing way better then I did the first time around! HA! Practice makes perfect.
Love the new Xbox elite, but the HD is a little louder then my regular 360. I hope it's supposed to be that way!
