NEW YORK, Jan 24, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Rockstar Games, a publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. , is proud to announce the release date for Grand Theft Auto IV, the new title in the genre-defining Grand Theft Auto franchise. Developed by Rockstar North, Grand Theft Auto IV will be simultaneously available for Xbox 360(R) video game and entertainment system and PLAYSTATION(R)3 computer entertainment system and will be in stores worldwide on April 29, 2008.
"We are so excited to be releasing Grand Theft Auto IV," said Sam Houser, Founder and Executive Producer of Rockstar Games. "We've pushed ourselves very hard to make something incredible and hope the game sets a new benchmark for interactive entertainment." Take-Two interactive software trades under the symbol TTWO and is up 10% or so on the day to $15.83 or thereabouts.
update on the game posted at IGN now, take a look, the cars will even have voice activated GPS in some cases!
nah....I might get one this year but more than likely I'll pick one up after their next price drop. If I wait at least a year I think they'll drop the 80gb down to $300-400 That should also give them enough time to get some of these titles off and running.

Before you buy one, there is a rumor that they are getting rid of the 80gb model and replacing it with 120-160gb and will include the dual shock 3 controller. No backwards compatibility though. Just an FYI.
